David and Carol discovered the Red Feather Lakes area while on a weekend camping trip in late summer 2009. They quickly purchased a home and are now fulltime residents. The Birks are real estate savvy having bought and sold a variety of residential real estate over the last 40 years in Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Washington states before discovering this area. David has served on an HOA Board and led its Architectural Review Committee. David holds a Master’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering and a Master’s concentration in Adult Learning, Performance & Development. His special interests include camping, do-it-yourself home improvement projects, classical piano, and sacred organ. Carol holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphic Design and spent several years as an Instructional Designer developing training. Carol’s interests are home improvement projects, sewing, stained glass, and pottery. Both David and Carol enjoy spending time with family, especially their grandchildren. Steve Koeckeritz, Broker Associate
A native of Minnesota, where he graduated from Saint Olaf College, Steve and his wife Jane first discovered the Red Feather Lakes area while stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming from 1968 to 1972. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1975, Steve practiced law until 1979 when he entered the real estate profession. Steve established Lone Pine Realty in 1983. He has served as a director of the Crystal Lakes Road and Recreation/Water and Sewer Associations since 1983 and as a member of the Glacier View Meadows Subdivision Improvements Agreement Management Group since 1991. Special interests include running, golf, scuba diving and most any other outdoor activity.
Nolan Larkey, Broker Associate
Nolan Larkey moved to the Red Feather Lakes area from his native Kansas in 1985 and joined Lone Pine Realty as the Branch Broker of the Red Feather Lakes office in April of 1987. He developed an interest in home building and design and has been a knowledgeable source of advice and support for property owners. For 5 years, he contributed to the community as a wild land/structure firefighter and medical responder. He is currently licensed in Colorado and is a member of the Ft. Collins Board of Realtors. Nolan enjoys golf, camping, hiking and more recently, has developed a serious interest in photography. A collage of his images is displayed in the Red Feather Lakes office. He and his wife, Harline, share a passion for animals and Nolan has been actively involved in the training and care of their Great Danes and horses for 25 years.
Russ Wiedeman, GRI Broker Associate
Russ was born and raised in Northern Colorado, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts from the University of Northern Colorado. Russ moved to Fort Collins in 1983 and has been selling mountain property in Larimer County since 2002. His hobbies include wood working, camping, fishing, golfing, and gardening. Marge Rosenbach, Administration
Marge joined the vacation rental staff in the fall of 2010. She has been in the property management business for more than 26 years and managed a 300 unit apartment community in Fort Collins for the past 23 years. She is putting her vast experience and knowledge into her work here at Lone Pine Realty. Marge and her husband Dale built in Glacier View Meadows in 2000 when the last of her 4 sons moved out and they became empty nesters. All Marge’s children live in nearby Fort Collins. She has 10 grandchildren and loves to spend every minute with them that she can. Marge loves the outdoors and all its beauty. Her special interests include hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, quilting and photography.
Jennifer Burgher, Administration
A Colorado Native, Jennifer was born in Greeley, with a childhood of camping and fishing the Poudre River up Cameron Pass. As an adolescent, her family moved to Steamboat Springs, where she spent most of the next 20 years living, learning, and exploring. In 2010 Jennifer moved from the Yampa Valley to Fort Collins, and in 2017, full-time mountain living beckoned her, her husband, and their 2 daughters to Red Feather Lakes. Jennifer has training and experience in a wide array of fields, including animal health and science, financing, and food and vitamin supplement industries; but her specialty and passion are customer service, in any trade! Jennifer’s hobbies include being outside for any reason, exploring artistic creative outlets of any medium, and spending time with her family and their pack of Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Marian Kelly, Administration
Marian was born in California and moved to Colorado in 1990 to attend CU Boulder. After college, she worked for the University Center for Atmospheric research for more than a decade, eventually having the good sense to make her way up to Crystal Lakes in 2002. She’s been a firefighter on the Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department since soon after moving to the mountain and was elected fire chief in 2009, stepping back to an assistant chief role in 2017. She’s a published author and professional freelance editor, and in her free time enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, and making chainmail jewelry.
